Hyakumangoku is a massive festival weekend in Kanazawa and many downtown streets are closed to traffic. A large 4hour parade starts at Kanazawa station and winds up at Kanazawa Castle with people lined along the whole route. Lion dancing, firefighters performing acrobatics, school bands, a procession of warriors and much more. Very difficult to see the drumming that signals the start of the parade unless you get to the station a 2-3 hours early. ‍Odori Nagashi is song/dance parade competition held on the main boulevard in Korinbo. Over 10,000 people participate and it is a massive block party from 6:30pm -8:30ish.

A Noh theatre performance is held at Kanazawa Castle at night by torchlight to cap off the parade day with the solemn sounds of Noh chants and taiko drums.

On the quieter side, Kenroku-en garden is admission free at night from 7pm until 8:45 and is illuminated.
